| The Dallas Cowboys are known as America’s team because of all their fans spread throughout the country. That said, they should be known as the world’s team. Their fans spread throughout the entire globe and they’re the 2nd most valuable sports franchise in the world behind Manchester United. The Dallas Cowboys are valued at 1.65 billion and that number is expected to grow. They have recently upgraded their stadium – Cowboys stadium in Arlington, Texas – from their former Texas stadium. On the field, the Dallas Cowboys are always a team to be reckoned with. They came into the NFL as an expansion team in 1960 and have 29 playoff appearances since then. They have also won five Super Bowls, tying them for second most of all time behind the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Dallas Cowboys’ Super Bowl wins came in 1971, 1977, 1992, 1993, and 1995. The primary household name from the earlier years is Roger Staubach, who led the team to their first Super Bowl victory. The team of the early 1990s was led by Troy Aikman, Emmit Smith, and Michael Irvin. They snatched Deion Sanders in 1995 from the 49ers, helping them defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Super Bowl that season. The Dallas Cowboys began an amazing and little talked about streak in 1990. It’s one that proves their power around the league and strong relationship with their fans. Despite their popularity it still amazes many that since 1990 they have sold out a record 160 consecutive regular season games. In short, their fans have been 100% behind them for nearly two decades without any hiccups. With the new state-of-the-art Cowboys stadium and the deep-pocketed Jerry Jones at the helm, the Dallas Cowboys are sure to be a major force in the next two decades as well. |
